Three models, three sizes, three facility profiles. Picking the right one is easier when you know what each machine is actually built for.
TerraScrub makes three scrubbers in the A-series: the A3 walk-behind, the A5 small ride-on, and the A7 mid-size ride-on. They share the same teal color, the same brush deck engineering, and the same cast-aluminum squeegee design. The differences come down to size, capacity, and the kind of facility each machine is built to handle. Picking the right one is mostly a question of square footage and operator preference.
A facility manager at a 40,000 sq ft warehouse told us: "I almost bought the A7 because I assumed bigger is better. Then I realized the A5 would handle our aisles in 3 hours and fit through every door on the property. The A7 would have been overkill and harder to maneuver." That is the kind of question this article answers — which machine actually fits the work, the doors, and the operators on staff.
Quick answer: Choose the A3 / A3D for facilities under 25,000 sq ft with narrow aisles and tight doorways. Choose the A5 for 25,000-80,000 sq ft facilities where you want a ride-on but need to navigate elevators and standard doorways. Choose the A7 for 80,000+ sq ft facilities with wide aisles and room for a full-size ride-on. All three share the same brush deck and squeegee engineering, so cleaning quality is consistent across the lineup.

The A3 and A3D share the same body and brush deck. The A3D adds a small 200W traction motor that helps on long runs but is not designed for large slopes. Both are true walk-behinds. The A5 and A7 are full ride-on machines with the operator sitting on top. The A7 doubles the cleaning width to 34" and triples the tank capacity compared to the A3.
The A3 is TerraScrub's simplest floor scrubber. It is a basic 21" walk-behind with brush pressure adjustment, a cast-aluminum squeegee, and a transparent water-level pipeline so the operator can see how much solution is left without stopping. The A3D adds a small traction drive for facilities where operators spend hours walking behind the machine.
The brush deck pressure is adjustable based on actual floor conditions. Heavier soil on quarry tile or rough concrete gets more pressure. Polished floors get less, which extends brush life and protects the surface.
The rear squeegee is cast aluminum, not stamped steel. Anti-corrosion coating handles the wet environment indefinitely. No welds to fail under stress.
The brush disc uses a triangular self-developed buckle mount that lifts and lowers automatically. Replacement takes 30 seconds with no tools. Standard brushes are 21" polypropylene, available in 5 bristle grades for different floor types.
A clear section of solution line is visible on the side of the machine. The operator can see at a glance how much clean water remains and how much recovery tank is filling. No need to stop and check gauges.
Where the A3 fits: Small retail stores, restaurants, clinics, office buildings, light manufacturing, school classrooms. Anywhere the floor area is under 20,000 sq ft and the operator does not need a ride-on machine. The 50/55L tanks handle 1.5-2 hours of continuous cleaning. The 13-gallon solution tank is enough for a single shift in a typical small facility without refill.
The A5 is the smallest ride-on in the TerraScrub lineup. It is designed for one specific challenge that walk-behind machines cannot solve well: facilities where the operator has to clean multiple floors in a single shift, and where a full-size ride-on is too large for the elevator.
At 50"×24"×41" (126×62×103cm) and 220 kg, the A5 fits through standard 36" doorways and inside most commercial elevators with a 2,500 lb capacity. The minibody design gives it a smaller footprint than the BA850 or A17 while still letting the operator ride instead of walk.
One button starts everything — brush, water flow, vacuum, and traction. The imported controller maintains consistent power output and protects against voltage spikes. New operators learn the machine in 5 minutes.
The squeegee raises and lowers automatically as the operator changes direction or stops. No need to manually lift the squeegee before reversing. Reduces wear and prevents squeegee damage from accidental contact.
A floating ball in the recovery tank automatically stops the vacuum when the tank reaches capacity. Prevents overflow and protects the suction motor from running dry. Operators can leave the machine running while it works.
Standard maintenance-free gel batteries handle daily deep discharge without water top-up. For multi-shift operations, a lithium upgrade is available that cuts charging time in half and extends cycle life 3-4x.
Where the A5 fits: Multi-floor office buildings, hospitals, hotels, schools with elevators, mid-size warehouses under 80,000 sq ft, and any facility where operators walk long distances between cleaning zones. The 65/75L tanks provide 2.5-3 hours of continuous cleaning before refill.
The A7 jumps significantly in capability. The 34" cleaning width covers 50% more ground per pass than the A5. The 140/150L tanks hold 3-4 hours of water. The 24V/200Ah battery runs 5-6 hours per charge. And the 800W traction motor handles slopes up to 15% without strain. This is the machine for facilities where cleaning speed is the limiting factor.
The dual brush design (two 18" brushes side by side) is the key to the 34" cleaning path. It also gives the A7 the ability to handle uneven floors and rough surfaces better than a single-disc machine. Each brush adjusts to floor contours independently.
The traction motor starts with a soft ramp-up, reducing wear on the drivetrain and preventing jerky movements. Operators new to ride-on machines get a smoother learning curve. The imported drive motor has higher output power than the A5, making it easier to climb ramps and inclines.
The A7 combines the A5's liquid-level safety cut-off with automatic squeegee raising. Operators do not need to monitor tank levels or manually adjust the squeegee during turns. The machine handles these decisions automatically.
Same brush deck engineering as the A3 and A5 — pressure adjustment for floor conditions, triangular buckle for fast brush changes. Consistency across the lineup means operators trained on one model can transition to another without retraining.
The A7 uses fully imported controllers and motors in the critical drive and control systems. This is the highest-spec configuration in the A-series. Quality is consistent with premium European brands at a fraction of the cost.
Where the A7 fits: Large warehouses, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, big-box retail, convention centers, airports. Any facility with wide aisles, open floor space, and a cleaning window where the speed of a 34" machine pays off.

The A3 is a basic walk-behind with manual propulsion. The A3D adds a small 200W traction motor that helps the operator move the machine forward, reducing fatigue on long cleaning runs. The A3D also has slightly larger tanks (55L/65L vs 50L/55L). Cleaning performance is the same.
Yes. The A5 is 50" long, 24" wide, and 41" tall. It fits inside most commercial elevators with a 2,500 lb capacity. The A7 is too large for most standard elevators and is intended for ground-floor or large-warehouse use.
Depends on facility size. For a 100,000 sq ft warehouse, the A7's 5,500 m²/h coverage saves about 6 hours per week compared to the A5's 2,700 m²/h. That labor savings typically pays back the price premium within 8-12 months. For a 40,000 sq ft facility, the A5 is the better value.
Yes. The control layout is similar across the A-series. An operator trained on the A3 can transition to the A5 or A7 with minimal additional training (typically 1-2 hours of supervised use). The brush deck design and squeegee controls work the same way.
All three models use the same brush deck, squeegee design, and basic maintenance-free battery technology. Daily maintenance is the same: empty tanks, rinse the recovery tank, check the squeegee, and charge the battery. The A5 and A7 have additional traction motor service points that the A3 does not have.
